19:03 UTC – Apple has just announced that Vision Pro will cost $3499 wow. That’s a lot of money.
It’ll be available from early next year, so probably January 2024, in the USA, with more details on pricing and release date for other countries coming soon!
18:57 UTC – Optic ID will scan your eye to authenticate you when you wear the Vision Pro, like Face ID. It also works with Apple Pay and App Store purchases. The external battery pack gives you two hours of power.
18:55 UTC – Apple silicon powers everything, with a dual Apple M2 system. It has a new sensor called R1, which works in parallel to eliminate lag and ensure everything is synced for realistic experiences. And the operating system has an obvious name: visionOS.
18:53 UTC – The design focuses on performance, mobility and wearability: the front piece is a single glass lens; a digital crown is the physical control.
The system is modular: you can choose different shapes and sizes for the light shield; flexible straps connect the headband (which you can change); glasses-wearers can add corrections that attach with magnets (thanks to a partnership with Zeiss).
The display system is a Micro-OLED that has 23 million pixels in total. That means each eye has more pixels than a 4K TV. That’s incredibly high resolution and much better than the competition. Also, a three-element lens ensures clarity throughout the field of view – something no competitor has.
18:50 UTC – Apple Vision Pro will let you do more than just watch your content in 3D. It will also let you record content in 3D. Using the device cameras, the headset will let you capture content that you can then enjoy or share after it has been fully processed.
18:40 UTC – Use your Mac screen in AR with Apple Vision Pro. Apple’s Vision Pro headset will work with your MacBook computer, as well as its own apps. When you look at your MacBook screen, the headset will create a larger virtual display for you to work on.
Apple is also demonstrating video conferencing features with Apple Vision Pro. Each caller will appear in a virtual tile in space. The headset’s spatial audio feature will make their voice sound like it’s coming from the tile, wherever it is.
18:32 UTC – The headset has a distinctive look, with a transparent part over your eyes. It has only one cable coming out of the back and it works with hand and eye movements. It doesn’t need any controllers.
18:26 UTC – Apple Vision Pro is here!!!
18:20 UTC – WatchOS 10 will help you track your mental health. Apple is adding new features to WatchOS and iOS that will let you monitor your mood, as part of its new mental health features across its devices, including the new Journal app. You enter how good or bad you feel, and Apple will track this and compare it with data.
It might suggest that your mood is affected by your exercise or sleep habits, or maybe you need an app to help you practice more mindfulness. Surely, it’s not because of all the time you spend looking at your phone and connected to your watch.
18:15 UTC – Snoopy is coming to the Apple Watch, and fans of Peanuts and happiness can celebrate.
Mickey Mouse watch fans have had their Apple Watch face for a long time, but now Snoopy is joining them. There are also major redesigns to every major Apple app giving them better full screen views, but Snoopy is coming to Apple Watch. If you want a pricey way to have Snoopy on your wrist, and connect to your fancy performance bike via Bluetooth, the Apple Watch is for you.
The Compass and Maps app will also get updates for hiking measurements, including waypoints that will help you make an emergency call and help your loved ones find you and your Snoopy-enabled Apple Watch if you get lost. There will also be new hiking maps and topography features. And don’t forget Snoopy.
18:08 UTC – FaceTime is coming to AppleTV. You can already use your iPhone as a web camera for your Mac, and soon you’ll be able to do the same for your TV. FaceTime and video conference call apps are coming to Apple TV, and you can use your iPhone to connect them with the Continuity feature.
Apple is also adding AppleTV-like features to your iPhone to let you connect to hotel TVs when you travel and watch your content on the go. This will probably be like CarPlay, but with a different TV instead of a car screen.
18:03 UTC – AirPods get a clever free update – AirPods Pro and AirPods Max are getting an update through software.
Apple calls this Adaptive Audio. It combines the best of both AirPods’ listening modes into one: it adjusts Transparency and Active Noise-Cancelling (ANC) to fit the conditions of your environment in real-time.
17:50 UTC – The new macOS release is called Sonoma. It’s named after the famous wine region in northern California.
Animated Wallpapers are a new feature, showing when locked and then stopping gradually so you can work without interruption.
Widgets blend into the background to avoid being too distracting. They are also interactive, like they are on iPadOS 17, and you can use iPhone-based widgets even if you don’t have the apps on your Mac laptop/desktop.
17:39 UTC – Apple has added more tablet-specific features to its software with iPadOS 17 for its iPad tablets.
Widgets are now interactive, letting you make quick changes in widgets without opening an app fully. Developers can also make their widgets interactive.
Lock Screen has more choices of Wallpapers too, including Live Photos with slow-motion effects that add some extra flair when you use a locked iPad.
17:39 UTC – Now iPadOS
17:37 UTC – Apple is introducing a Journal app that will use your iPhone data to help you write journal entries. Apple says this will help its users feel and show gratitude. It will use photos, location data, and other information and give you ideas for journal entries.
Apple says that this information will be totally private and will stay on your device. This is Apple, so we expect it to keep its reputation of protecting user privacy, especially for an app like this.
17:33 UTC – Apple has made it easier to share things with other iPhone and iOS users. It has improved its AirDrop feature with new gestures and new ways to find people to share your stuff or your activities with.
One of these is Name Drop, a feature that lets you find your recipients fast from your iPhone or your watch. You can also share with people nearby by just bringing your iPhones close together. The iPhones will know you want to share something.
You can share more than files. You can also share links and video streams.
17:30 UTC – Messages has a new feature called Search Filters, which lets you find what you need in your chats more easily. You can also reply to a message with a simple swipe and audio messages now have text transcripts, so you can read them or listen to them later.
There’s also a new feature called Check In, which lets you share your location with your friends or family when you’re on your way home or to a safe place. A good way to stay safe.
Stickers are now all in one place and all Memoji are now stickers too. You can also add some effects to your stickers, like making them sparkle. Nice, this reminds me of when the internet was fun with dancing hamsters!
17:25 UTC – Apple has finally added one of the best features from the Google Pixel, now called Live Voicemail. This lets you see the caller’s words as they speak, so you can easily avoid scam calls. iPhone also has a new visual feature, called Posters, where you can customize your contact cards with images, fonts, colours and text.
Live Voicemail is a new feature that transcribes the caller’s speech in real time. This is a great way to tell if you have a genuine call or a spam one. Cool!
FaceTime is getting a big update too: you can leave a video message if they don’t answer. Hooray. Video voicemail!
17:18 UTC – Craig Federighi announces iOS 17. No one saw this one coming 😂
17:13 UTC – Mac Studio is getting a big update next with M2 Max and M2 Ultra silicon. Apple silicon also comes to Mac Pro with M2 Ultra. The most powerful chip ever made for a personal computers. You can choose between Max or the new Ultra options.
The M2 Ultra has a whopping 192GB of unified memory. That’s unbelievable (and I’m sure it’s very expensive).
17:08 UTC – MacBook Air 15-inch still runs on Apple silicon M2 and is available next week.

17:04 UTC – The event begins with Tim Cook greeting everyone at Apple park. He then introduces John Ternus, who will discuss Mac.

16:55 UTC – Apple Park in Cupertino, California is the venue for today’s conference. This futuristic campus, shaped like a spaceship, houses more than 12,000 employees in its four-story “Groundscaper”. It also boasts a lake and an open air stage in the center.
The “Spaceship” is not far from Apple’s original headquarters, only 1.7 miles away. It has a variety of cafés to choose from, seven in total. You could enjoy a different one every day of the week!

16:33 UTC – Less than half an hour now until WWDC 2023 kicks off with developers and media taking to their seats.
16:26 UTC – Tim Cook has teased on Twitter that this year’s WWDC will be one of the “best ever” for Apple. Could this mean a three-hour keynote packed with new products and features? We’ll soon see…
16:16 UTC – A new Mac Studio with the M2 Ultra chip could be on the way, according to rumours. This would be a follow-up to the Mac Studio that launched last year with the M1 Max and M1 Ultra chips. The Mac Studio is a powerful desktop computer that looks like a giant Mac mini geared towards professional music, photo and video editing.
16:09 UTC – Apple’s new headset will also debut a new operating system at WWDC 2023, reportedly called xrOS instead of Reality OS. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg says that xrOS will offer many iPhone and iPad features in a 3D environment, and that it will have mixed-reality versions of Apple apps like Safari, Photos, Mail, Messages and Calendar.
16:00 UTC – As the Apple event draws near, some Twitter leaks reveal the hardware specs of the Apple headset. The source is Unknownz21, who has a track record of reliable leaks.
According to the tweets, the headset will feature dual OLED screens, a TruDepth camera for FaceID, 4 CV cameras, two RGB cameras (for passthrough) and 2 Infrared illuminators.
The device will also have a dual chip configuration, with a main processor (likely an M2 or M3) and a coprocessor (possibly an A16 or A17). The headset will use USB-C for charging and data transfer, and will have a small internal battery and a larger external battery pack. This seems a bit complicated for an Apple product, but we’ll see soon enough.
